ABOUT REFEREEING IN TARANAKI 

The Taranaki Rugby Referees Association (TRRA) has been affiliated with the Taranaki Rugby Football Union (TRFU) for over 100 years.  

TRRA provides referees for Primary & Secondary School games right through to National Representative competitions. 

The Taranaki Community Rugby Trust is the major sponsor of the Taranaki Rugby Referees Association.

Over the years we have had great success in training & developing Referees to become National Squad members and International Test Referees. We currently have three referees in the New Zealand Rugby High-Performance system, including one International Test Referee. 

Regardless of our success in getting Referees to achieve higher honours our training & development program is geared to ensure all Referees are given the opportunity to enjoy our National game at whatever level they choose to officiate. 

Registration is $20 per year. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
